Miss Evelyn

Well baby girl X, now know as Evelyn has made her arrival via C-Section on April 15th, 2009. Everything went great, it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

The scary…… The initial walk into the OR room by myself (Chris wasn’t allowed to come till after the spinal block.) It was freezing cold, completely lacking in any sort of thing to make one feel comfortable. The nurses were counting cotton swabs, and other tools. It took forever for the anesthesiologist to get there so I just had to sit on the bed and wait with my nerves. The CRNA was great. She was so nice asking me questions and telling me stories to keep me calm. I’m sure my nerves were evident by my monitored vitals. After the spinal block everything went very quickly. A very weird sensations to hear them announce the first incision, but not be able to feel anything.

The annoying…… The pain meds made me nauseous and itchy so they gave me something to stop that, but that wiped me out. I was pretty out of it for the rest of the day. I hate that feeling! I just couldn’t concentrate at all. The most annoying was these leg compression things. They were these leg wraps that would fill up with air and compress your legs from the knee down that went off every minute. I had to wear them for 24 hours! By the next day I wanted to rip them off.

The pain wasn’t too bad. I was expecting a lot worse. I really didn’t need much more than Motrin. I was very happy to be able to leave two days later. I am not a fan of post partum, my nurses were super nice but they harass the crap out of you. It seems like a million people are always coming in for something. Plus I always feel like a prisoner. I know I could go walk the floor but that is just awkward, so I never leave the room.

Home, the kids have been good. They have been very excited about Evelyn but crazy rambunctious! Jack has been whinier. Chris has been a super dad and husband. My water bottle is always full, the kids dressed and fed. He really has been great. I don’t know how I am going to do it once he is back at work!

Haha well this was intended to be short. J We are doing well. Not quite sure how much computer time I will have in the future.

Full of hope

I'm gonna get spiritual on ya.....

I really love conference weekend. Sometimes at the beginning it feels like a sacrifice to give up your Saturday but it is so worth it. I get way more than I give up. I do have to admit that my lap top follows me around the house so I did do some multi tasking (cleaning closets and doing ironing.)

I am thankful for the uplifting talks that put me back on track. The messages remind me to take the emphasis off me…. what I need and what would make my life better…… to look about, and see what I can do for others. President Monson’s talk at the end of Sunday morning’s session really made me realize I don’t have it bad and that I am extremely blessed. That heavenly father has a plan for each of us. He knows what he is doing and I don’t. Good weekend, even if my kids were little terrors.

Little Girl.

I am going to have a long chat with this little girl when she comes out. She has been quite difficult. I was sick for about five months, and now she is stressing me out like no other. She is breech and being stubborn. They have scheduled a c-section for the 15th with some Dr. I have never met. I changed practices at 20 weeks with the decision to have a midwife deliver this baby since my other two were for all intents and purposes easy deliveries. Jokes on me, so now I am at a practice where I have never really met the Dr.’s (7 of them.) I have never gone to my due date. Both Jack and Jessica were born at about 38 weeks. I really hope this one comes early because I really don’t want to wait till four days before I am due! Couldn’t they have some heart since this is not at all how I have planned it? They won’t do the c-section before 39 weeks and they are booked the 13th and 14th. On top of all that I won’t be out of the hospital in time to go to Shari’s bridal shower. We are really excited for her to get here just wish the process wasn’t so difficult!

In other news, I finally finished the baby quilt. I hit a wall after the quilting so I asked my mom to do the binding. I am happy with how it turned out. Both Jack and Jessica have one but in different colors.

Here are some fun pictures from the last week. Jessica had Jammie day at school. The other ones Jack was playing with the car seat that is out, cleaned, and ready for baby girl Evans. I though I would take a couple pics of the kids.
