Church Halloween Party

So I recycled last years costumes because I didn't have it in me to sew new ones this year. Here are just a couple pictures from the last little while.

We are just really busy these days, but making it. :)

Family and Phantom Part 2

Family and Phantom

The summer is over and we are still trying to get a schedule down. Sweet Jessica goes to preschool three times a week and she loves it. She is meeting many new friends since this year she is at a different school. I love how close it is, 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive. J Jessica has learned how to “pump” she can get herself going on the swing now. She is wonderful.

Jessica’s take on preschool, “lately I am doing preschool, and doing everything else in preschool, and we like to do preschool playing, and we learn about everything, and do projects at the yellow table, and that’s it. Then I came back home from school, and that’s it, I’m done.”

Jack is so cute, sweet, and caring, but at the same time he might kick you or the door for no reason. He loves to snuggle and hold Evelyn. He is my little helper. I can always count on him to run and get a diaper (or 20.) He will give Evelyn her pacifier when she is sad (even if he smushes it into her mouth full force.) He shares his toys, he is so happy when she wakes up in the morning. He runs to greet her, climbs up her crib, leans into her face and intonates with squeals of delight, “good morning sunshine,” Oh I love that boy.

Evelyn is a rolling, smiling, newly rice cereal eating, big blue eyed sweetie. She is a very good natured baby. Not bragging just very very relieved. When I found out I was pregnant so soon with number three I cried. Should I have admitted that? Well it’s true. She has been such a fun addition to our family, even if my house is a wreck, and the thought of grocery shopping with my three kids makes me want to punch people. She is great, and I feel like I have really gotten to enjoy her baby stages without being too stressed out.

I will have to speak for Chris. He is happy to have football back in his life, work is busy, going Las Vegas in October to see a football game with his friends. He really misses Utah in the fall so I am glad he gets to go have his weekend.

I am doing mostly well. I wish was a little more disciplined. I am trying to workout but am struggling with the feeling of tired all the time. I am thinking about joining a group with a personal trainer and nutritionist at the club I go to. I wish I could do it on my own. It kind of makes me feel like a failure to have to pay someone to make me accountable. I am excited to take a small trip to Utah in November to hang out with my family.

Last night I got to go see The Phantom of the Opera with my Mom, Dad, Tom, Michelle, and Chris. It was my parents 42 times going. They go all over the country to see the show. I think they would go all over the world if my dad would do long flights. It was awesome. I love it more, the more I see it. Since my parents have gone so often and will only go if they have seats in the front they have made friends with the conductor. He was so gracious to take us on a tour after the show. Some interesting facts he told us about the set. That it’s their own stage that they bring with the production and set it up on top of the theaters stage. It has trap doors where the lights come out of the ground. The Chandelier weighs over a ton! Many theaters had to add reinforcements to accommodate the light safely. For the whole production it takes 25 semi trucks. It was so cool. We got to see a lot of the costumes. Everything is so organized such a well oiled machine. So fun. It was quite the night!

a few more

By request!

Okay so it has been ages… A very long time! I think we have adjusted to a third child. It helps that Evelyn is the best baby ever. She honestly rarely cries, she is so smiley, she sleeps awesome, she eats awesome. I feel so blessed to have this sweet little spirit. Did I mention she is so stinkin cute? The other kids love her too. I have been pleasantly surprised that Jack has taken so well to her. A little too much at times, I caught him trying to pick Evelyn up today. YIKES. Her Grandpa is completely enamored. I basically just hand her over when I get to my parents. He is so funny with here.

We just go back from a trip out to Utah for Shari’s wedding. It was so beautiful. Shari and Bryce match quite nicely. They decided to do a ring ceremony since there were quite a few unable to attend the temple. I was too sure about it at first but it was so sweet. Bryce did such a nice job and made all the women cry. He read some excerpts out of his journal from when he was dating Shari. It was tender. Shari’s dress was amazing, she was gorgeous! I don’t really have a picture that does it justice. But I will post one anyway. We had so much fun visiting family. I love watching all the cousins play. We had our downs; it is never easy to travel with three kids. Jack had a really hard time sleeping. He basically did sleep the whole time where in Utah. He dislocated his elbow again. I don’t even know how this time. It’s called nursemaids elbow. Chris left the reception early and took him to Dr. Ryan (Chris’ Brother.) I got Pink Eye the next day; thankfully it was mostly cleared up the next day because I was able to get a script a couple hours after my symptoms appeared (thanks Dr. Ryan.) I got locked out of my brother’s house. We all got sick while we were out there and are still trying to get better. I swear we did have a good time though. We are glad to be home. Oh and third times a charm, it took us three rental cars to finally get one that worked right. Next time I will say no thanks to Alamo.

I finally got Evelyn’s birth announcements together. You know 3 months later. I am adding an updated photo to it hehe, good idea Susan. ;)

Life is pretty good right now. I just really love my family! I wish they could all live in MI. I guess I will have to wait for the eternities.

Here are a few pictures from the last few months.

Miss Evelyn

Well baby girl X, now know as Evelyn has made her arrival via C-Section on April 15th, 2009. Everything went great, it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

The scary…… The initial walk into the OR room by myself (Chris wasn’t allowed to come till after the spinal block.) It was freezing cold, completely lacking in any sort of thing to make one feel comfortable. The nurses were counting cotton swabs, and other tools. It took forever for the anesthesiologist to get there so I just had to sit on the bed and wait with my nerves. The CRNA was great. She was so nice asking me questions and telling me stories to keep me calm. I’m sure my nerves were evident by my monitored vitals. After the spinal block everything went very quickly. A very weird sensations to hear them announce the first incision, but not be able to feel anything.

The annoying…… The pain meds made me nauseous and itchy so they gave me something to stop that, but that wiped me out. I was pretty out of it for the rest of the day. I hate that feeling! I just couldn’t concentrate at all. The most annoying was these leg compression things. They were these leg wraps that would fill up with air and compress your legs from the knee down that went off every minute. I had to wear them for 24 hours! By the next day I wanted to rip them off.

The pain wasn’t too bad. I was expecting a lot worse. I really didn’t need much more than Motrin. I was very happy to be able to leave two days later. I am not a fan of post partum, my nurses were super nice but they harass the crap out of you. It seems like a million people are always coming in for something. Plus I always feel like a prisoner. I know I could go walk the floor but that is just awkward, so I never leave the room.

Home, the kids have been good. They have been very excited about Evelyn but crazy rambunctious! Jack has been whinier. Chris has been a super dad and husband. My water bottle is always full, the kids dressed and fed. He really has been great. I don’t know how I am going to do it once he is back at work!

Haha well this was intended to be short. J We are doing well. Not quite sure how much computer time I will have in the future.

Full of hope

I'm gonna get spiritual on ya.....

I really love conference weekend. Sometimes at the beginning it feels like a sacrifice to give up your Saturday but it is so worth it. I get way more than I give up. I do have to admit that my lap top follows me around the house so I did do some multi tasking (cleaning closets and doing ironing.)

I am thankful for the uplifting talks that put me back on track. The messages remind me to take the emphasis off me…. what I need and what would make my life better…… to look about, and see what I can do for others. President Monson’s talk at the end of Sunday morning’s session really made me realize I don’t have it bad and that I am extremely blessed. That heavenly father has a plan for each of us. He knows what he is doing and I don’t. Good weekend, even if my kids were little terrors.

Little Girl.

I am going to have a long chat with this little girl when she comes out. She has been quite difficult. I was sick for about five months, and now she is stressing me out like no other. She is breech and being stubborn. They have scheduled a c-section for the 15th with some Dr. I have never met. I changed practices at 20 weeks with the decision to have a midwife deliver this baby since my other two were for all intents and purposes easy deliveries. Jokes on me, so now I am at a practice where I have never really met the Dr.’s (7 of them.) I have never gone to my due date. Both Jack and Jessica were born at about 38 weeks. I really hope this one comes early because I really don’t want to wait till four days before I am due! Couldn’t they have some heart since this is not at all how I have planned it? They won’t do the c-section before 39 weeks and they are booked the 13th and 14th. On top of all that I won’t be out of the hospital in time to go to Shari’s bridal shower. We are really excited for her to get here just wish the process wasn’t so difficult!

In other news, I finally finished the baby quilt. I hit a wall after the quilting so I asked my mom to do the binding. I am happy with how it turned out. Both Jack and Jessica have one but in different colors.

Here are some fun pictures from the last week. Jessica had Jammie day at school. The other ones Jack was playing with the car seat that is out, cleaned, and ready for baby girl Evans. I though I would take a couple pics of the kids.
